Nice way to begin 2010!

Today I attended the Officers & Directors Installation Luncheon at the Sacramento Association of Realtors. Our new President for 2010, Barbara Harsch (also a Lyon Realtor) was sworn in, along with the President-Elect, the Secretary-Treasurer, and the members of the Board of Directors.

Along with the installation, there was an awards ceremony to recognize outstanding association members for their contributions in 2009. I was honored to be one of about a dozen association members to be recognized! I received an award for "Oustanding Service in Education." As I mentioned in my final blog post of 2009, last year I was an instructor for multiple classes at SAR, as well as a featured speaker at two conferences for the California Association of Realtors. In 2010, I am already teaching a section for the "Educational Roundtables" (hosted by the SAR Masters Club) taking place later this month on January 29.

Well this was a nice way to start 2010!

First Blog Post of 2009...back to reality!! Homeward bound to Sacramento...

I suppose it is fitting that I am writing my first blog post of 2009 in the airport in Phoenix...I got up this morning waaaayyy too early to catch my flight home. I am meeting with clients who are looking to purchase in East Sacramento this afternoon at my office.

This little trip was a nice little break from the norm...I had a great time with my friends here. Suzanne's next term in medical school starts Monday, so I probably won't get to hang out with her again until this summer.
Anyway, back to Sacramento...I know 2009 is going to bring great things! Woohoo!

Sacramento County Rental Housing Registration And Inspection Ordinance

Looks like the County of Sacramento is following the City of Sacramento's lead with regard to the City's rental housing inspection ordinance.

Last week the Sacramento County Supervisors introduced its own Rental Housing Registration And Inspection Ordinance. Get ready folks...it was adopted today.

The County's ordinance is a bit different from the City's ordinance. The County has an option for a self-performed inspection and certification.
